Gospel Fest Competition . In 2008 I won the Best Soloist in the Under 19 Category . This boosted my confidence and became the turning point of my life . From then onward , I believed that God could use my singing for His honour and glory through my ministry in His kingdom .
What is your current involvement in your community and / or church with regard to your special talent ? Presently , I am a member of a community-based organization , which financially assists young persons in completing their college education . However , I am mainly very active with the Youth Ministries of my local church , where I provide spiritual guidance and counseling for young men and women . I also provide voice training and mentorship for young women who wish to become good singers . Outside of leading worship in my church , I have sung at various concerts , crusades , funerals and weddings in my community .
Tell us about your journey through the “ Sing It Like the Starz ” competition ‘ Sing It Like the Starz ’ ( SILS ) is a singing competition for upcoming gospel artistes , who vie for a recording contract . This journey for me was a molding one , as my eyes were opened to what it takes to ' make it big ' in the Gospel arena . It afforded me a trip down the ‘ professionalism and performance ' lane , which raises one ' s standard / quality as a singer . On August 27th , 2016 , the finalists had to perform two songs : a cover and an original piece . My cover was Grammy award-winning singer Tamela Mann ' s ' Take Me to the King ' and my original song was entitled ' War ', written by me . That night was truly a blessing , as the Lord used me to minister to the audience . I truly enjoyed every aspect of the show .
What is in the future for Caywama ? Like most women , I would hope to find that special someone , get married and live a fulfilling life . Outside of that , as this musical journey continues , I hope to document my travels , trials and triumphs throughout my life and publish a book for Readers ’ Digest . I sincerely believe that this can help to minister to someone in a special way . By Summer of 2017 , if God wills , I am hoping to release a seven track debut Gospel album entitled ' War '. Additionally , I hope to travel the world ministering to lives , producing music videos and growing as an artiste . As my career peaks , I hope to seriously get involved in merchandising , and later , establish my own ' cake baking ' business .
