Arawak Cay
This is perhaps one of the best places to absorb authentic Bahamian life in the company of locals and
traditional Bahamian fare. There is an abundance of fried fi sh, seafood and other local food served in
a laid-back, friendly atmosphere patronized by both visitors and Bahamians. The cay was man-made
from sand dredged from Nassau harbor in 1969 and now this stretch with its colourful shops and food
trucks is a popular attraction where you’ll fi nd some of the best fried fi sh in the islands. It is located 15
minutes from downtown Nassau and all roads lead here, especially on Sundays.
