Vodou Ceremony Vodou , also known as Voodoo , is the religion of Haiti . The Priest ( Ougan ) or Priestess ( Manbo ) organizes Vodou ceremonies in the Temple , called Peristil with drum music , Creole or African prayer , dances , vêvê ( drawings ), colored clothes and food for the spirits ( lwa ). Spectacular possession scenes characterize these ceremonies , where it is said gods personally visit their servants .

Rara Exhibition

A group of traveling traditional musicians and dancers waling along the roads during Holy Week . With their percussion ( graj , cymbals , drums , etc .), traditional trumpets carved in bamboo ( vaccine ), colorful costumes and songs inspired by the scenes of peasant life and their catchy dances , they plow the roads to greet their close relatives , their customers and bosses based in the cities . They create a festive atmosphere in the mountains when the Christian Church mourns the death of his Lord . It is held during Holy Week . Click here to read more .
