Queens Park
Savannah
This is an open 260 acre space in the island’s capital of Port
of Spain. Its history includes sugar, an airstrip and horse
racing. Today, it is a well-used area with its neighbours being
the Emperor Valley Zoo, Botanical Gardens and Victorian
buildings called the Magnifi cent Seven. The Savannah is
the venue for many carnival events, soccer and cricket. You
can jog here, walk, or relax. You can also purchase local food
from the vendors who sell around the Savannah. This area is
usually a lively place to spend some time in the afternoon,
socializing with the locals.
