MARIANNE RIVER
The Marianne River, located in Blanchisseuse on the island’s north coast, meanders through the forest
and forms three pools which is an inviting cool-off spot. The top pool is shallow while the middle
contain rocks which are used to slide down to the bottom pool, which is deep enough for the more
adventurous to jump into from the rocks that are as high as 15 feet above it. Although you have to hike
to the pools it is only a 20 minute trek. You can combine it with a visit to the nearby Avocat Waterfall.

This is a nice addition to a Blanchisseuse hiking trip. From your parking spot, an easy 20 minute
hike will take you to the falls. Nestled within the lush forest, the therapeutic sounds of the
cascading water will move you to fi nd a comfortable rock on which to rest as you enjoy the
beauty of this natural surrounding. Many opt to wade in while others choose to enjoy a water
massage while standing directly beneath the water as it tumbles down from the rocks above.
Overall, it’s an enjoyable experience.
