Saddle Hill &
Nelson ’ s Lookout
It is at the top of this hill that it is said Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson would spend his spare time,
watching for enemy ships in the 1740s. Today, hikers come here, not to watch for enemy ships
but to enjoy the expansive view of the south and east of the island. For the curious, there are
ruins of a small fort to be explored. The grave marker of Philippa Prentis Phillips, a British woman
who moved to Nevis in the 17th century is also at this location.

Pinney’s Beach
Just a few minutes’ walk north of Charlestown
is Pinney’s beach, a 4 mile stretch of golden
sand washed by the warm Caribbean sea.
The beach’s calm waters plus the gorgeous
stretch of sand makes it an ideal place for
families to while away a few hours. This beach
is also known for its lively bars and nightlife.
