Dee p Sea Fishing
around Margarita Island
El Farallón
(Isla Blanca)
Located southeast of Margarita Island and a mere 15
minutes away by boat, Isla Blanca is a small rock that sits
in the middle of the ocean. It is very popular with visitors
to Margarita who are interested in its bird life. The coral
reef that surrounds this island is also an attraction and so
too is a statue of the Virgen del Valle which was sunk off
the coast of the island.

Dolphins and whales. These are often seen when deep sea fi shing in the waters around
Margarita Island. To the island’s fi shermen, these are usual sightings, but to visitors whose
expectation is merely for a catch of tuna, wahoo, bonito, king mackerel or barracuda,
the bonus of an up-close experience with one of these amazing mammals, is usually an
unforgettable memory.
Enquire at your hotel about hiring a guide to take you on your fi shing trip. A day of fi shing,
accompanied by a sumptuous local meal and beverages, plus snorkeling if you so desire, is
a great way to spend at least one day of your Margarita Island vacation.
