Trelawny Yam Festival
In the community of Trelawny, yam is celebrated each year at Easter. Initially
starting as a fundraising event to assist farmers in the community, it has now
grown into a huge festival with thousands attending the event. Different
varieties of yam are on display and dishes with yam as the main ingredient
are available for sampling. Patrons are treated to live entertainment, there
is friendly competition among farmers, cultural performances and more . . .
