This area is believed to be the fi rst place the explorer set foot when he landed in Jamaica. Today a tribute to that is refl ected in the park named after him, Columbus Park. This area also contains relics of the island’s native Indian heritage which can be seen in the open air museum which is located there. Among other things, the museum displays artifacts from that period like a waterwheel, Arawak canoe and old cannon.
