From 1000 BC until 800 BC , the palace of the Mayan rulers was in this area . Many of the visitors to this 30 acre site come from the Cahal Pech Beach Resort but anyone is welcome . Visitors will see a variety of buildings from that time , including residences , temples and a sweat house .
