Fallen Jerusalem National Park
By renting a boat from Tortola or Virgin Gorda you can easily reach this island. Enchanting
marine life in the underwater tunnels and caves, two secluded beaches on which to
picnic, and birds to watch are enough reasons to come here, if only to bask in the
solitude this island off ers. The 48 acres of Fallen Jerusalem National Park was established
in 1974 but it was declared a bird sanctuary since 1959 as it is an important nesting site
for many seabirds. Visitors should be aware that the island is uninhabited and there are
no amenities so you should ensure you have all your day’s essential supplies with you.
