Seru Largu Papiamentu “Kristu Ayera Awe Semper” means “Christ, Yesterday, Today and Forever”. This is what is inscribed on the monument that sits atop a hill in the center of Bonaire. Seru Largu means large hill and at this location, you get panoramic views of the capital, Kralendijk and Klein Bonaire. This is a fantastic spot for taking photos during the day and at night it is a lovely place to sit while enjoying the view of the studded night skies. If you’re in Bonaire on New Year’s Eve, you can join the crowd who will gather here to watch the fi reworks display that heralds in the new year. Photo Credit: explorebonaire.com Cave Art Boca Onima These drawings were made by the fi rst people to live on Bonaire, the Arawak Indians, who arrived from Venezuela about 1,000 years ago. It is believed that the Arawaks entered Bonaire via the bay at Boca Onima. These reddish- brown ancient works of art are located in a cave on the island’s east coast. Following the signs to the Boca Onima, a cliff -lined inlet will lead you to the cave.
