Garrison Savannah Racetrack
Since 1845, British Regiment offi cers who were stationed on the island would race their
horses on the parade square. Through the years these offi cers were joined by wealthy
businessmen and planters who also raced their horses. Today, that parade square is
Barbados’ offi cial race track, the Garrison Savannah, where races take place frequently.
Visitors are welcome to view the races from the grandstand.
The Barbados Turf Club is responsible for the regulation and
promotion of horse racing in Barbados.
