Pineapple Festival This annual festival has been taking place in Eleuthera each year since 1988. It celebrates the pineapple and pays homage to its farmers. The festival is designed around the harvesting of pineapples, to create awareness of this once lucrative and important agricultural heritage. Bahamians and visitors participate in pineapple-themed activities, such as a pineapple eating contest, pineapple cooking contest, old time pineapple crazy sports, 40-mile pineapple cycling classic, a triathlon, plaiting of the pineapple pole, non-stop pineapple party time with live entertainment, beverage treats, and much more. This is an event all members of the family can enjoy. ©Bahamas Ministry Of Tourism
