Experience Aruba’s history in a new way and learn more
about Aruba’s industrial past.
The Museum of Industry is one
of the newest museums on the
island and is located inside the
iconic Water Tower in downtown
San Nicolas. It forms part of a
five museum constellation of
Fundacion Museo Arubano. The
Museum of Industry tells the
remarkable story of the industrial
development on Aruba during
the last two centuries. A history
that had global impact and may
come as a surprise to many.
It is a story told in different ways
throughout the museum and
which draws one’s attention
to the dramatic impact these
industries have had on the
island’s landscape, as well as
colorful personages that played
an important role during these
various industrial developments.
This museum presents the history
of gold, aloe, phosphate, oil,
and tourism through elaborate
displays and multimedia
installations. Furthermore, in
the green section, the museum
will also host a “Museum
Incubator Project”, which will
present innovative proposals
for sustainable development on
Aruba by the island’s youth.
The Museum of Industry offers a
chance to learn of the incredible
versatility this little island has
shown throughout history and
the possibility to experience the
touching stories of those who
were part of this history.
It offers a unique opportunity to
learn more of the history of Aruba
as well as the vibrant cultural
heritage of this part of the island.
