Miriam C . Schmidt Botanical Garden
This beautiful garden was named after Miriam C . Schmidt , born on St . Eustatius on January 8th , 1932 . She was a self-less volunteer whose work , until her death in 1998 , has left an indelible mark on the island . It can be seen in the existence of the St . Eustatius Historical Foundation of which she was a founding member , the Advent Youth organization , this garden and many other causes . Today , this lovely garden bears testimony to her interest in protecting her island ’ s bio-diversity .
