Woodlands Beach Unlike many of the Caribbean’s powdery- white sand beaches, this is a black-sand beach derived from volcanic sand over the years. Located on the island’s west coast, picnics and barbecues take place quite often in this area. Nearby, there is a pavilion with tables, benches and restrooms. A popular swimming location as well as a hang-out spot for the locals with an occasional party, it is also a great place to turtle-watch. Photo Credit: David Stanley
