Wallblake House Wallblake House is the oldest house on the island, a relic from the sugar plantation days. Built by a sugar planter in 1787 when sugar reigned supreme on the island, it is today a physical representation of that aspect of Anguilla’s history. Although the house is not open to visitors, you can certainly take a tour the grounds. A guide is not absolutely necesary, but in order to get a clearer picture of what the house represents, it is best to contact the Anguilla National Trust which organizes scheduled tours to this and other locations of historic significance. There is no charge for this tour, but donations are welcome. www.axanationaltrust.com
