Cueva de las Maravillas
Located between San Pedro de Macorís and La Romana, this fascinating cave system
contains hundreds of well-preserved pictographs, petroglyphs and engravings from the
Taino Indians who once inhabited it thousands of years before. The dwelling is easily
accessible to visitors with its excellent lighting system, ramps, a footpath and a modern
elevator. It is home to the most important sample of rock art and features amazing rock
formations such as stalactites, stalagmites, and columns.
It is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m
