Cayman Islands carnival is held annually during
the first week of May. Batabano (a celebration

found a nesting place on the beach), as this festival is
also called, is a vibrant, colourful expression
of Caribbean culture. The mood is usually
electrifying as masqueraders parade through
the streets, dancing to the sounds of calypso
and soca music. Parties, food, music, dancing,
revelry, fun, laughter - pure enjoyment!
