The Road, Saba.
Before 1930, there were no roads capable of
accommodating vehicular traffic on Saba and
therefore there were no motor vehicles on the
island. It was initially thought that building a
road on Saba would be too diffcult due to its
mountainous terrain.
A local Saban, however, decided to defy the odds
and in 1938 he started road construction and the
first motor vehicle arrived in Saba in 1947
