Summer Crew’s Designers
We work with designers from many different
countries, some of whom are linked with other
carnivals - Trinidad, the US, Canada, the UK,
Barbados to name a few. However, we are proud
to have Grenadian designers working with us
as well, including a student from St. George's
University. It is a pleasure to see young people
getting involved in the art form/culture. Our
team would usually decide on a theme and the
designers would draw inspiration from it for their
designs. One of the good things with working
with so many designers is that each designer
interprets the theme differently. So the designs
vary. Some of them look to the future of mas’,
some from our African heritage, some in the
"wearability" of the costume. So while we have a
theme, it's often expressed in many ways.
