After a merger between the St. Maarten National Park Foundation and the St Maarten Museum
Foundation, the St. Maarten National Heritage Foundation, a non- profit organization was formed
to protect and promote the island’srich heritage.

Border Monument
This monument proudly represents the peaceful coexistence of St. Maarten (Dutch side) and St.
Martin (French side) on one land mass. It was erected in 1948 to celebrate 300 years of acceptance
and marks the border between these two nations.
