Calendar of Events July . August . September 2016 JULY July 18 & 19 Saint Lucia Carnival Parade Saint Lucia Carnival is a spectacular explosion of color, displaying its art, culture, music and dance. AUGUST Chocolate Heritage Month Saint Lucia celebrates Chocolate Heritage Month having recognized the role cacao and its beloved byproduct chocolate has played in its history. A number of on-island experiences and month long festivals delve in Saint Lucia’s cacao roots, offering travelers unbeatable islandwide hotel and resort promotions of chocolaty fun. August 1st Emancipation Day SEPTEMBER August 12th- 14th September 11th – 17th The Mercury Beach Event will take place on the Pigeon Island Beach, August 14th, 2016 from 8am to sundown. This year approximately 325 vessels from Martinique and over 7000 visitors from neighboring Guadeloupe, St Vincent, Barbados, Trinidad and St Lucia are expected to attend this annual event. Saint Lucia is one of the most scenic islands in the Caribbean with first rate dive and snorkeling just off shore. There is endless beauty beneath the surface at Saint Lucia’s many dive sites that teem with rainbow color reefs and colorful varied marine life. Dive Fest Mercury Beach Party August 30th La Rose Flower Festival This cultural event is one of the two Flower Festivals “La Rose” and “La Marguerite” held annually to preserve St. Lucia’s rich cultural memory, history and heritage. These Flower Festivals are derived from historical rival societies who sing virtues of their flowers. 121 To highlight the Saint Lucia Dive experience, Saint Lucia will host for the first time Dive Fest - “See a complete Different World”, which will feature five days of two (2) tank dives at different locations on island. Other activities will include a photography competition, Lion Fish Derby, a sunset cruise followed by a Night Dive and a Cultural Extravaganza.
