Volunteer Club in Tituš
Tituš Volunteer club started its activities this school year as a result of the great desire
and energy of our students to be actively involved in the social life of their local
community. These young designers of our civil society have been recognized and
supported by the Club coordinator Mrs. Željka Maršanić, our religion teacher, Mrs.
Marina Vižintin-Šilobod, Croatian teacher and our educator Mrs. Maja Sokač. The
goal of the Volunteer Club is to educate people to volunteer, to promote active
citizenship of young people, to develop solidarity and tolerance, foster mutual
understanding among young people and to encourage empathy and care for vulnerable
groups of the local and wider community.
You ask us why we volunteer?
Because we learn to empathize, to be patient, to work together as a team, to listen, to take care of
ourselves while helping others, to share, to spend quality leisure time, to talk to people, not to judge but
to respect diversity, to define priorities, organize ourselves, understand feelings,. ..
Some of the planned activities this school year are helping students in our school (from first to
eighth grade) in learning and writing homework, collecting food and visiting the animal shelter
Dumovec, collecting toys and paying a visit to the Home for abandoned children in Nazorova
street, participating in the workshops (arts and computers) with the users of Saint Joseph Home
for the elderly people, gardening in the school yard, etc.
Students, parents, grandparents and other family members, as well as neighbours in
Špansko, come and join us!
Every Wednesday and Thursday in February our volunteers help you learn these subjects.
Isn't that great?
