Interview with Tony Sabatino , Executive Vice President at Securitas
In 2014 , Securitas celebrated 80 years in the security business in Sweden . Securitas is the largest private security company in Sweden , and use technical solutions in their everyday work . This has led to an amazing development for the company . Today , Securitas is the largest security company in the North American market as well .
SACC-Philadelphia had the opportunity to have an interview with Tony Sabatino , Executive Vice President at Securitas in North America . Tony recently celebrated his 25th anniversary at Securitas . He started in 1991 as a management trainee at Wells Fargo Guard Service , which later merged with Burns . Securitas acquired Burns in 2000 . Tony has been the Region President in California since 2004 , and became the Executive Vice President in 2015 .
Why is it that you are the number one security company in the US ? How do you work to maintain that position in the market ?
This could be a two hour conversation , but the main reasons are that we provide high quality services and security alternatives for our clients . We also utilize electronic solutions . The services that Securitas provide are very unique . At this point , we are really leading the market place . There is a lot of competition in the market place , but soon they will mimic what we are doing .
Gisela Lindstrand , from the office in Sweden , mentioned to me that there is a paradigm shift that includes more technology : What is your strategy to keep up with the changes , and what do you believe is the most important factor in order to keep up with the paradigm shift ?
Securitas is a leader in the electronic security industry , through their own research and working with industrial leaders ( vendor partners )
Please tell us about your strategy and visions when it comes to sustainability – what do you do to affect the environment as little as possible and in what ways do you help the environment ?
Many people believe that a service company is not able to do as much for the environment , but we are aware of the work course . We are going digital , using less paper consumption . We have been using environment friendly cars for the past 8 years . Securitas also have a company policy about sustainability that is on our website .
Tony also mentioned that Securitas employs almost 85,000 people in North America . Securitas operate in all 50 states , and also in Canada and Mexico . Securitas has become a protective service company , and no longer just a guard company . Securitas has become a very innovative company .
