Most biography pages for “professional photographers” websites are written with a ‘romantic’ and somewhat ‘dramatic’ description of the artist / person by copywriters . I too originally had a interesting piece put together with the aid of a thesaurus and some creative juice but have recently had a rethink of what it is any visitor to my bio page should know about me as a person and photographer . This is my mantra ……
So to start , I would have to point out the obvious ……… I am totally engaged and passionate about photography as a means of personal expression and capturing a perfect moment that unfolds in front of my lens . Whether this be on my own , with family , friends or while leading a photographic adventure safari with a client or teaching a specific workshop related to my passion. As it is a subjective art form , I do not subscribe to the preconceived notion that one teaches others but shares in the moment both with knowledge and passion. I am passionate about Conservation in wildlife and think photography is an important tool in adding to efforts to preserve our natural heritage for generations to come
I have grown up through the old and the many new changing visions of the rainbow nation of South Africa and am inspired by the many beautiful things that surround me on this African continent . When out shooting , nothing beats ending the day around a fire with good friends and a epic cold one in hand !
