Nikon to go mirrorless
It's chasing after pros who'd otherwise turn to rivals like Sony,
Olympus and Fuji.
To say Nikon has been conservative with mirrorless cameras would be an understatement. While most of its rivals have embraced mirrorless even a cautious company like Canon takes them seriously. Given that the firm's president has already said that a mirrorless camera is in the works, it's clear that this upcoming model will come with a full frame sensor.
Nikon is saying that an upcoming mirrorless camera will “offer the performance prospective customers expect” as well as include “ultimate” performance in areas such as optical quality, image processing, build, and usability.
