SFI Research Centre APC, a Microbiome Institute, officially
launched at University College Cork.
A world-first in magnetism research was published by
Prof Michael Coey at the SFI Research Centre, AMBER (the
Advanced Materials and BioEngineering Research Centre
based at Trinity College Dublin) together with researchers
from the Netherlands, Singapore, and the USA in the
prestigious journal Science.

The SFI Research Centre INFANT (Irish Centre for Fetal and Neonatal Translational Research) at University
College Cork, Bioscreen Health, Laya Healthcare and IBM launched the ‘LEANBH’ project in the Cork

improve the detection and treatment of hypertension and pre-eclampsia during pregnancy.

College Cork, won the top prize at the Science Foundation Ireland
Technology Innovation Development Award (TIDA) pitch off, which took
place as part of the Startup Gathering in Dublin.
