Since moving back to the newly redeveloped St Joseph’s Home, we have celebrated many mini occasions and built a store of fond memories. Happiness is made of these! CIRCLE OF LIFE Over 7 months (Aug 2017 - Feb 2018), the boys from the Singapore Boys’ Home and St Joseph’s Home residents created this piece of art featuring 132 canvas panels and ceramic tiles bearing symbols of a fruitful life. The rainbow colours represent vibrancy and the butterfly, new beginnings. The collaboration marks the start of the partnership between us which we hope will blossom into friendship and support for one another when the time comes. The art piece was done under the guidance of the Art Vessels team led by Shirley Ho. LUNAR NEW YEAR STEAMBOAT REUNION (FEB 2018) They brought the love, while we prepped the food. The Lunar New Year was an excuse for us to invite the families of our residents over so they could have a nice hot pot dinner with their dear ones. It’s all in celebration of the family during the season of new beginnings. THURSDAY OUTINGS 78 | St Joseph’s Home Regular weekly outings resumed soon after the move back to Jurong West, much to the delight of residents. Such trips were a good chance for staff and volunteers to get to know the residents better and vice versa. Places they have visited include Vivocity and Jurong Bird Park.
