Attes aficionado: MALCOLM BELL
Attes moment: KEEPING IT REAL
Just one glance at Malcolm’s diary is
enough to raise the blood pressure. As
CEO of Visit Cornwall, he’s got a lot on
his plate but if there’s an hour spare, he’ll
be doing what he does best; sharing his
incredible experience with what have
lovingly become known as ‘Malcolmism’s’.
If there’s a story to be told, he’s telling
it with humour, passion and good old
Cornish dry wit!
Malcolm’s Attes moment; looking on the
bright side, standing strong in the face
of adversity and keeping things real. It
sounds simple, but don’t be fooled, to
have Malcolm’s level of composure while
keeping so many balls up in the air takes
some skill. So, what’s his secret?
“It’s all about keeping things in
perspective. I’m in the business of PR not
ER. If there’s a stumbling block, it’s not
the end of the world. Work could so easily
become a 24/7 obsession but I work-to-
live not the other way around,” reveals
Malcolm.
“When I’m in work mode I give it my all,
but that’s also true when the tie has come
off and I’ve closed the laptop. I’m fiercely
protective of my me-time, it’s what keeps
me ticking. Time on the water, preferably
in a sailing dinghy is my release – my
Attes moment – when I can be Malcolm,
rather than CEO.”
Attes amkan: don’t let the small
things get in the way of the bigger
picture. Put what matters most first
and be true to yourself.
