“Some people asked if it would be very dark in
the early morning and evenings. We said ‘no’. We
should let nature do what it does and if it’s dark, turn
on the lights.
What about funding?
“The Health Ministry has been very supportive of
our concept and while they will not fund items like
the hydropool and childcare, we have managed to
either find sponsors or to do so on our own. This
has left us in the red, for now only hopefully, but
funding should not be the concern of everyone
such that it paralyses the home. What I would like
to see more of are the drops in the ocean - how
to save electricity by turning off the lights and air
conditioners when not in use? How to recycle an
old item? How not to waste food? Such micro-
responsibility - this will help me.”
A few initial ideas had to be tweaked to address
safety and other concerns.
