Deere to Acquire the Wirtgen Group
Deere & Company (NYSE: DE) has
signed a definitive agreement to
acquire the Wirtgen Group, a privately-
held international company that is the
leading manufacturer worldwide of road
construction equipment. The purchase
price for the equity is EUR 4.357 billion
in an all-cash transaction. The total
transaction value is approximately
EUR 4.6 billion (USD 5.2 billion based
on current exchange rates), including
the assumption of net debt and other
consideration.
Headquartered in Germany, the Wirtgen
Group has five premium brands across
the entire road construction sector
spanning milling, processing, mixing,
paving, compaction and rehabilitation.

complementary
product portfolio enhances Deere’s
existing construction equipment offering
and establishes Deere as an industry
leader in global road construction. The

Axalta Coating Systems Acquires Plascoat Systems Limited
Axalta Coating Systems ,a leading global
supplier of liquid and powder coatings,
announced that it has acquired Plascoat
Systems Limited, a leading supplier of
thermoplastic powder coatings, from its
parent company, International Process
Technologies (IPT) Ltd.
Established in 1952, Plascoat has
pioneered the science behind the
formulation,
manufacturing,
and
application of thermoplastic polyolefin
coatings. Plascoat’s industry-leading
product portfolio includes Plascoat PPA
571, a flexible, tough and highly durable
plastic coating used for a wide variety
of outdoor applications, Talisman, a
hard wearing, tough plastic coating
used extensively in the dishwasher
basket coating market, and Plascoat
PPA 571 Aqua, a unique plastic coating
for potable water pipes, in addition to
many other high performing coatings
designed to meet the highest industry
standards.
As part of the transaction, Axalta will
acquire both Plascoat manufacturing
facilities in Farnham, England and
Zuidland, Netherlands.
