We keep growing
This academic year, 2016-2017, our student body grew
from 115 to 132 students in preschool through 6th grade,
with a waiting list the size of enrollment
Teaching others
We trained 64 educators to-date from across the country
and spectrum of Jewish practice in our Jewish Montessori
Summer Training and we host continuing workshops and
seminars - on-site and on-line - for parents, educators and
school administrators who seek our unique vision, curriculum and experience
Teachers as designers
Lamplighters’ teaching staff consists of 22 trained teachers who spend 8-10 hours a week in curriculum design and
mentorship. In the past year, they developed and tested 7
new curriculum initiatives spanning Hebrew and English
literacy, biome science curriculum and Montessori Chumash
A new lens
We piloted three new technology initiatives: Self Directed
Learning on Tablets; Open Camera Viewings; and The Visible Classroom and intend to further develop these models
and test in other schools this year
Every child matters
Everyone’s welcome
In the past year, we increased FlameFund tuition aid from
$190K to $270K, to 74 of our students
As a lab school, we employ an open-door policy. We welcome an average of 20 visitors a month, including teachers,
parents, school leaders, community members and fellow
innovators who are curious about our methodologies-and bring ideas back to their respective environments
