Torchbearers Our Torchbearers are a group of monthly and annual givers that donate between $1,000 to $10,000 a year to sustain our cause. Their vision and financial commitment help us build the dependable base of support that fuels our vital work. Our Torchbearers gather every year for unique events, in-depth tours and social functions to share ideas and broaden their commitment to Lamplighters; a collaborative effort of like-minded souls who are leading a revolution in Jewish education. Lamplighters Annual Gala Fundraiser 2016: Roots Lamplighters Yeshivah was born from the belief that education can, and must, nurture and harness the potential of every child and enliven their unique G-d given purpose in this world. Since we came into being, we witnessed firsthand how education is an organic, living journey that must be tailored to each child — for one seed, nurtured, grows strong roots which give rise to a forest of mighty trees. We started as a seed. And from this seed sprouted a movement. FlameFund Lamplighters Yeshivah grants tuition aid to families in need. To support this aim, one of our generous donors matches dollar-for-dollar to our tuition assistance fund, the FlameFund. The FlameFund was established in 2012. To date, Lamplighters has granted close to 700k in tuition aid to families in need and raised 500k through the FlameFund to fill in those budgetary gaps. We have our very first Grandparents Day and launched the Grandparents Circle with 19 new members! At this year’s annual Lamplighters Gala, over 250 Lamplighters friends, parents, teachers and supporters gathered to celebrate the foundational inspirations of our school: our Rebbe’s teachings; our values; our teachers; our supporters; our heritage. And most of all, our parents and grandparents -- all who have shaped and raised us, and whom we honored at this joyous event. On June 6th, we celebrated the many “roots” who have dedicated their time, energy, financial support and guidance to create a strong foundation for our school and community. Together, we were inspired to nurture our children to honor their roots, so they can go on to plant illuminating seeds of their own — and change the world. Roots and Legacies Project - In preparation for our Roots Gala Dinner, our students interview their grandparents using StoryCorps, to create a living legacy of their lessons and stories online.
