Between The Lines is a student-run organization ,
created by a group of talented , passionate and ambitious young writers and artists . The main project of the organization is the biannual literary magazine which Initially began as a literary circle in NLCS Jeju , where students shared and critiqued each other ’ s work and formed a small school-funded publication . Between The Lines is now reaching the wider public with its vision of inspiring more readers and supporting more writers and artists . The publication is in both in English and Korean , and is the first and only national literary magazine devoted to publishing creative works by the students in Korea . The ultimate aim of the organization is to create an artistic and creative community of Korean youth , that will act as a springboard for future initiative projects like the literary magazine .
The biannual webzine publication features creative writing ( kor , eng ), analytical writing ( kor , eng ), reviews ( kor , eng ), interviews ( kor , eng ), visual art , photography , and lyrics with QR codes for music . The magazine is submission-based , accepting works from students from worldwide . The magazine is entirely student-run , student-edited and student-designed .
Our aim is to create an art work as a whole that collaborates and synthesizes different media of arts in a creative and innovative way .
To provide a platform where talented and passionate creative writers and artists in English can publish their works and develop their talents
To create a community of writers and artists to share their interest and passion and to create a youthful creative culture
To spread the value of ‘ sharing art ’ by participating in the Copygift movement in Korea . To encourage more Korean students to engage in artistic and creative crafting .
Currently , the magazine constitutes the core part of the organization . However , the ultimate aim of the organization is to create a literary and artistic community where even bigger and more diversified projects can spring from .
However , as a non-profit , student-run organisation , Between The Lines financially depends entirely on social funding and sponsors . Our sponsors tend to be companies and institutions with interest in cultivating and nurturing future artists and writers .
