1. In secondary school.

3. Because it is a dynamic job and you can always
be creative.

6. I like most of the things, some of them I do not.
The part I like fulfills me and makes me a better
teacher every day.
Miss Morana Podnar
1. My first wish was to :-) become a ballet dancer, social worker, Croatian language teacher,
lawyer...but in the end, due to circumstances, I chose to be a teacher. It happened after secondary
school.
2. I have been teaching for 17 years, 16 in our school.
3. At that time, as a 16 year old girl, I thought it was enough to love working with children, but now
I know that it is more demanding and that you need a lot of general knowledge, skills, energy,
patience and tollerance.
4. Teaching elementary students is demanding for the teacher. Besides the mentioned qualities you
have to be understanding and have a constant wish to educate and learn new things and also be
informed about everyday life.
5. This school year I teach class 2.
6. I love my job, but it has good and bad moments, as any other job. I love my work in the classroom,
energy and connection and the environment that is being built in the class. Bad side is our
disordered education system, lagging behind the world's successful school systems and attitude of
Croatian society towards the role of the teacher.
Snježana Krezo, 2e teacher
1. I decided to become a teacher due to circumstances. This profession was not my first choice,
but I accepted it and liked it because I love children and I think that teaching is a very important
profession.
2. I have been working as a teacher for almost 35 years, all the time in this school. Today I am
teaching children of my ex-students.
3. I chose to be an elementary teacher because I like working with young children and I still think
it is the biggest challenge in teaching.
4. Teaching elementary students is special because we start from the beginninig, we not only
educate them, but also teach them the basics of socialization and behavior at school etc. It is
great improvement that our students perform from 1 st to 4 th grade. However, in this age children
are very direct and honest which makes working with them, despite some difficulties, very funny
and interesting.
5. This school year I teach class 2f.
6. I love my profession. I love it when I work with children because it brings me satisfaction and
fulfills me so I can see the importance of my work. Other side of my profession (loads of paper
work and meaningless administration) is less satisfying.
