Construction—APAC—Japan—Bridges
The cross section of the main girders is around
15m wide and was realized as a single-cell box
girder section with an extended slab reinforced
by struts. To reduce the number of external
tendons in the narrow box girder, DSI licensee
Sumitomo supplied high-strength Type 19S
15.7 MC DYWIDAG Strand Tendons.
The main girders were constructed with Type
12S 15.2 MA DYWIDAG Strand Tendons using
the cantilever method. The maximum span of
the Gunkai-gawa Bridge is 124m long. Both
Type 19S 15.7 MC DYWIDAG Strand Tendons
and Type 12S 15.2 MA DYWIDAG Strand
Tendons were used for post-tensioning.
Type 1S 21.8 pre-grouted DYWIDAG Tendons
were used for transverse post-tensioning.
