TRADITIONAL GAMES
Examples of games
Example of game 5 - France
THE TAIL OF THE WOLF
The goal of the game is to catch the tail of a wolf (scarf
slipped to the waist in the back) in a delimited space and
place it in his camp (hoop). Skills: Run fast, dodge and
catch, spot and respect play spaces, set up a strategy,
respect the rules of a game and manage its emotions.
There are 2 groups of children: a group of wolves and a
group of hunters. Hunters must catch wolf tails and place
them in their camp (hoop).
The children love this game very much and are totally
involved.
Teachers must ensure that child wolves do not prevent
child hunters from catching their tails.
On the other hand the children hunters must not be brutal
with the wolves to take their tails.
With young children the duration of the game must be
short and a return to calm proposed between two games to
take stock of the rules to respect.

MEMORY
Memory is a card game in which all of the cards are laid
face down on a surface and two cards are flipped face up
over each turn. The object of the game is to turn over pairs
of matching cards. THE RULES FOR PLAYING
"MEMORY : mix up the cards, lay them in rows, face
down, turn over any two cards. If the two cards match,
keep them. If they don't match, turn them back over.
Remember what was on each card and where it was.
Watch and remember during the other player's turn. The
game is over when all the cards have been matched. The
player with the most matches wins
It is a particularly good game for young children, though
adults may find it challenging and stimulating as well. The
scheme is often used in quiz shows and can be employed
as an educational game. Over the course of the game, it
becomes known where certain cards are located, and so
upon turning up one card, players with good memory will
be able to remember where they have already seen its
pair. Concentration can be played with any number of
players or as solitaire. It requires observation,
concentration and a good memory to win.
