Isn’t it strange how things or experiences
that once excited us the most are no longer
a part of our lives. What was once integral to
us, is now lying in an isolated corner of our
house, uncared for, unattended.
The guitar that you once strummed, the paint
palette and the canvases, your favourite
racquet… are all now just a part of a longing
memory.

This brings us to the integral question: Why
did we leave behind these “hobbies” that we
once so painstakingly honed? Weren’t they
the source of our solace at times when other
things in life didn’t make sense? Is it because
we do not have enough time in our busy
schedules to accommodate them? Should
we forget what we loved, to pursue what we
need?
Well then to put it into perspective, the
legendary poet Robert Frost had a day job at
a factory at Massachusetts and Kate White,
former editor-in-chief at Cosmopolitan
magazine penned down seven New York
Times bestsellers while holding office!
So, let’s not shroud ourselves with the
several excuses that we give to convince
ourselves that what we are doing is for a
greater pursuit, rather prioritize our activities
and make time for those long-lost hobbies.
In case you are amongst the many who still
have not figured out the hobby that strikes
for you and gets you excited, then you are
urged to leverage technology or go old-
school and try your hand at something that
maybe once fascinated you.
