Hip Hop

Hip Hop is a style usually danced to hip hop music. It includes various moves such as breaking, popping, locking, krumping and b-boying. Hip hop classes incorporate a lot of old school dance moves and grooves and involve moving to the complex rhythm of music.

K-Pop

Korean Pop music (K-Pop has a distinctive bright colour and energetic style. It was largely inspired by American hip-hop and pop in the 90s and blends Eastern and Western styles. A large focus is placed on glamour, charisma and sharply executed, synchronised dance performances.

Jamaican Hip Hop

Reggaeton

Urban choreography classes focus on performance as well as the ability to learn choreography, while also bringing your own style to it. It takes a large influence from hip hop, but also elements of jazz, contemporary and commercial dance to create a fusion of styles that is usually dynamic and exciting.

Reggaeton is the fusion of Reggae, Latin and Hip Hop flavours. Originating in Panama as ‘Spanish Reggae,’ the genre soon spread in popularity throughout Latin America. Reggaeton focuses on strong and sensual hip movements (commonly known as dancing ‘perreo’) and often incorporates hip hop grooves and latin dance technique.

DanceHall has become known to be a rough immensely catchy street style of reggae “riddims”. It is the centre of the Jamaican ghetto youth’s lifeworld, a place for enjoyment, cultural expression, survival and spiritual renewal.
