Internal Mind by Isaiah Harrison

how many times do I have to apologize

to the person staring back at me in the mirror,

For it is him that helps me see my life in the distances so much clearer.

Why is it that my self awareness does not come so effortless?

I was so stuck in one's time

Maybe I didn't have much courageousness

Who will I become in my future?

For I make the decisions, which my work will suture.

I was designed for greatness.

Structured for strength.

Endless in ability.

Forever I will reign!

It Goes and Comes by Maddie Graan

In the morning I watch the sun rising

I looked outside to see it all so bright

At dusk, the sun will go into hiding

The sun will disappear into the night

As the bright colors shine on the water

The rays reflect off of the deep dark sea

The blue water began to get hotter

Nothing can change this pretty scenery

The yellow beams throwback nature's beauty

And the clouds interrupt the suns spotlight

You can’t see the sun being so lovely

As night approaches the horizon light

But now that sun has joined us yet again

Only to go away in eight, nine, ten.

Red by Kathryn Clark

Much is unsaid about the color red.

Red is the color of life and of the dead.

Red flows within us, it blows within us, yet it also glows within us.

Red makes your heart race to the pace of the immense intensity of its rays.

Red is the first color in the rainbow and the first color seen in life.

Love is shown with red roses, thorns of love are thrown with red roses, but yet red always imposes to find one's true colors in the heart.

Spread apart from the rest, red is the true test of one's inner colors.

Red has taken many lives, but what thrives are the hearts and souls of the men and women who died in vain of this color from the pain.

Some see red when it tis the end, but all see red at the sight in the light of life.

Night by Tayjah Kennedy

The darkness is fully enclosed on me in the night

Quiet and mundane, in my hushed room

Peaceful and calm like the sleeping river that flows outside my river

My non-perceptual thoughts course through my brain

As I drift into the soundless night.

However, as I lay here, an unheralded disturbance approach

The waters, bumpy and broken, perturbed my dreams as it rings unsoundly in my ears

Confusion racks my brain as this tingly sensation wraps around my body

My lungs were compressed and small as my heart travels to my ears

That’s when I realized that I cannot move, nor speak, in this unhinged night

I opened my eyes to see that fear was in its solid form in front of me

My steady breaths failed to cease, as it stares at me

It taunts me as the air fails to invade my lungs; the waters sounding louder than ever

My eyes inadvertently close, as it starts to move towards me

My once lucid thoughts have turned into morbid dreams on this unwholesome night

As little time passes, those troubling apparitions diminishes

My heart makes its journey to its home

I try to placate my trembling body

As I no longer hear the river rapids--

But just the quiet and mundane sounds of the night.
