She’ll be going back this year to compete for the title of Miss Maryland. In the interim, she has been crowned Miss Prince George’s County 2013, a local title that qualifies her for Miss Maryland. ‘11 Amanda Barber was named the Colonial Athletic Association Women’s Swimmer of the Week for her victories in a number of events during the weekend of February 3-4, at a meet in Richmond, Virginia. Amanda took first place in the 50yard freestyle with a time of 23.88 seconds and won the 100-yard freestyle in 52.73. She was also a member of two Towson University relay teams that took first place. Patrick Sensenig, a Sophomore at Penn State University, has received a scholarship and is now officially a contracted cadet in the Nittany Lion Battalion. Roland White will work this summer as a lead counselor for the Promise Camp (http:// familyguidance.net/programs/ promise-camp/), a program of Christian outreach to at-risk teens located in western Pennsylvania. Roland will take part in this ministerial position as of midsummer. Prior to taking part in the Promise Camp, he will spend a month studying abroad in Sevilla, Spain, as part of his Spanish minor studies at Morehouse College. Tyler Holmes, a Sophomore at St. John’s University in New York City, was recently hired by CBS Studios as a student intern in research and development for the new television talk show airing on BET, hosted by TJ Holmes weeknights at 11pm. Marcus Thornton, William and Mary Men’s basketball Sophomore, was named the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week for the third time this season. Marcus Thornton '11ues ‘12 Carrie Alexander, a Drexel University Freshman, was welcomed as a new member of the Drexel Dragons Women’s basketball team. According to Drexel’s The Triangle, “Adding additional depth in the Dragons’ backcourt is Freshman Carrie Alexander, a 5-foot-7-inch guard from Bishop McNamara High School in Forestville, Md. Alexander had a strong high school career, boasting awards and honors such as two All- Washington Athletic Conference honorable mentions and one Firstteam honor.” Anthony Brown joined Prince George’s Community College newspaper, The Owl, as the Sports Editor. He has had front page stories about the Blue Bird Blues Festival and PGCC softball team. Jack Hopkins has received 2012 Northeast-10 All-Conference honors as a Freshman at St. Anselm College in Massachusetts. Jack was named to the All-Conference AllRookie Team. In 11 games, Jack made 57 tackles, including 39 solo tackles, intercepted three passes and broke up another, recorded a 15-yard sack and had 3.5 tackles for a loss of 22 yards. He ranked third on the team and 18th in the conference in tackles. Brandon Franklin reports that he was selected as a member of the King’s College Men’s Tennis Team. Joseph Webb ‘96, dancer, choreographer, actor, educator and poet, returned to BMHS on November 29, 2012. Joseph shared his talents by providing master level classes to both the Beginner and Advanced Tap students who participate in the schools’ Dance Program. Also visiting campus was Jacob Ulrich ‘00 who earned a degree in sculpture from The University of Maryland. Jacob currently works at LUKE WORKS, where he specializes in custom concrete surfacing. Trained by artists, designers, and craftsmen, Jacob has been able to incorporate his love of sculpture into a career in the Fine Arts. His work has been shown in D
