Music Mayhem Magazine JANUARY/FEBRUARY (Papa Roach Faces Their F.E.A.R.) | Page 15

Do you feel that this album (F.E.A.R.) is Papa Roach’s best album since the release of “Infest”?

Being part of the last 4 albums, I think it’s definitely the best and most unique since I’ve been apart of Papa Roach. I wouldn't say its the same sound, lyrically and sound topic wise, its matured and musically of course we’re better. We like to think we’re constantly getting better as individuals and then as a band as songwriters and musicians. We just try to make the best possible Papa Roach music that is current and just relating to everyones life.

At what point in your career as a band did you realize that you wanted to make this your lives?

I would say just as an individual, like when I played in bands before Papa Roach for me a Record Deal is one thing of course, that the first step of like “oh shit I’ve made it” but what a lot of people in bands don’t realize is once you get signed that is when the work starts. You then got to maintain that and once your pushed out into the public, that is another whole scrutiny and judgements from everyones opinions. That’s another thing though I would like to say that being signed the first time and also getting on a bus and out of a van, that was cool.

Would you say its hard to stay away from your Family, but its a bit easier now that you can get in touch easier with iPhone and Skype. You can see them face to face and chat.

Yea, thankfully there is now all that new advanced technology cause I remember when I started off touring 20 years ago and pulling over to get gas and I would run to the pay phone and call my parents and friends, you know what I mean. Now its rare to even find a pay phone. So FaceTime and cell phones has been like a saving grace for us while traveling and being able to keep in contact but they come out on the road with us once in awhile.
