Motion City Soundtrack executed a flawless performance in Columbus starting off with the ever popular Attractive Today starting out with a high energy song to get the crowd rallied together. This gave a preview of what most the night would feel like leading easily into “Everything is Alright” continuing to grow energy and people danced and sang with a continued elation. Feeding off the crowds energy lead into “When ‘You’re’ Around” and stopping to slow down for “Resolution” to explain the meaning behind not always being the greatest boyfriend to a girl. The honesty and insight into the song gave the crowd a glimpse into the real life emotions and events this album was pulled from. "Time Turned Fragile” told us a heart-felt story the clarified the story quite a bit as well talking about how the song is out of perspective of his dad, and he told us about a camping story that he finished with a quick jokes before leading into it. Jumping right back into a full-crowd singing “LG FUAD”, “Better Open the Door”. Last song of the album “Hold Me Down” was given a bit more depth. Many were already very excited for the song, and the story behind it Justin describes it as a “break up letter to himself”. The song showed how you can continue to love and care for someone after a break up and how the pertained to his life. And anyone who had bought the deluxe edition of the album would be glad to know that they played, “Invisible Monsters” as well! The live commentary of the album gave a whole new character to “Commit This to Memory”. Commit This to Memory was made as a compilation of memories and it was a beautiful and communal show as Justin explained some of the actual memories behind the songs. After the album was played in its entirety the band left stage to return a few moments later playing crowd favorites such as, “My Favorite Accident”, “Her Words Destroyed My Planet” and others; finishing out on a upbeat a positive note with “The Future Freaks Me Out” as the crowd danced, and sang their lungs out and wanting more. It’s clear that there is room in everyone’s heart for Motion City Soundtrack and the future brings new music and memories.
