A SAKE JOURNEY TO JAPAN I have always been a wine lover, tasting and traveling throughout the world’s vineyards from Burgundy to Champagne, from Napa Valley to Paso Robles. However, I did not get properly exposed to sake until last year. I always knew about its existence, but was too intimidated by its complex characters and foreign concepts. It was not until I passed my Certified Sake Advisor and the Certified Sake Sommelier exam that I truly appreciated the art of sake. I have heard from several wine professionals that making wine is easy compared to sake. I did not understand the meaning until I visited Japan to see for myself the absolute dedication and precision that must take place for any quality of sake to be produced.
