influence your singing a lot.
MM: Are you the same
Vandana when working
with different music
director?
Vandana: It depends
upon with whom am
working with, as a person
am the same. But I think
working with different kind
of composers brings out
certain aspects out of you.

Certain composers bring
out who a person can sing
a lot of melodies and I
surprised myself by singing
peppy numbers which are
uncharacteristic of me
which people believe. So
as a person am the same
but musically people get
to see different sides of me
depending on whom am
working with.
MM: How firm are you
with your music principles?
Vandana: It is ok to
have principles as a person
and those are important
I believe. When you come
to singing, the minute you
said boundaries you are
restricting yourself from
experimenting, if that’s the
write word. So, I am true
to my training, I do make
sure I practice as I believe
it’s important to keep your
voice in shape. Those are the
things I stick by, I don’t go
to the recording unless I am
warmed up and feel that I
am in a good shape. Once
I’m in the studio I don’t
think that I really have to
be the centre of controller of
power. I’d rather be happy
to hand it over to somebody
else.
