PUBLISHER'S NOTE CONTRIBUTORS A SALUTE TO THE IMAGE MAKERS Mark Bradfield Dave Laus “THE ONLY CONSTANT IS CHANGE.” Chris Linton Liana Louzon FOR MANY PEOPLE, NOTHING CREATES AS MUCH ANXIETY AS THAT GREY ZONE CALLED “THE UNKNOWN.” But for those in the realm of competitive fitness, the unknown is the opportunistic bi-product of change. And without change, the jaw-dropping transformation, growth, and limitless potential we find displayed on the stage isn’t possible. Change is good. Change is happening all around us and most notably within the Canadian world of fit- ness. When things get shaken up and the unexpected arises, our priorities are tested and our loyalties are called into focus. This is when we turn to our mentors for guidance. For us in the fitness industry, we find the strength and guidance we need in the leadership of our governing body. Turn to our feature story on the newly formed Canadian Physique Alliance, and you’ll hear Ron Hache’s perspective on the changes Jim Manion helped forge to ensure better things down the road for our athletes. The Canadian IFBB pros are top of the food chain. These athletes showcase a human capacity for outstanding athleticism, strength, and determination. The final step of an oth- erwise invisible journey that demands hundreds, if not thousands, of hours spent at the gym, working with personal trainers, fine-tuning form and function, honing diet and nutrition, calibrating every move made towards an ultimate goal. We feature 20 formidable pros who made Canada proud as mentors of our community. Community is what makes us stronger. This issue we celebrate our impressive commu- nity of athletes that we are able to revere and admire thanks to the skilled eye and talent of a handful of incredible photographers. They capture the intensity and help brand all of the incredible sacrifice and dedication into history with their photo genius. A new year. 2018. Change is coming.
