*AMRAP -1
means “As Many Reps As Possible Minus One”. In
other words, use your judgement to stop the set one rep short of the
maximum number of successful reps you can do. You can also look
at this as ending the set two reps short of failure. If this sounds easy,
remember that you are required to do four sets of this bodyweight
exercise.
CABLE CROSSOVER
Setup: Attach a D-handle to each
cable set at a high pulley position. Stand
in the middle of the apparatus and reach
up to grasp each handle using a neutral
grip. Spread your feet apart slightly,
bend your knees a tiny bit, and with your
back straight lean forward a little bit
from your hips.
Action: Concentrate on using force
from your pecs only, while keeping the
rest of your body completely motionless.
Pull the handles together so your hands
meet in the middle in front of you. In the
finish position, your elbows should be
tucked closely at your sides; avoid flaring
them out. Hold for a second, then return
to the start.
