HAT DOES IT TAKE TO
get 6 MILLION views on a
YouTube transformation fitness
video? Just how impressive do
your results have to be? Pretty
superhuman, right? Jamie Alderton
achieved just that, by documenting
his soft to shredded journey from
start to finish.
In a Muscle & Fitness exclusive,
the incredible athlete reveals exactly
how you too can get ripped- and stay
ripped- no matter how long the road
ahead.
“Building a superhuman physique
is all about the power of the mind
and the method you apply to your
muscles,” begins Jamie, 32. “I left the
army in 2009 and kicked off a career
in fitness,” he says. “In the military
you have to be able to lift and shift.
It’s no use being able to bench press
hundreds of pounds if you can’t run
a mile. Similarly, not many people
want to be great at cardio if they have
no strength when it comes to the
weights room.”
We recently told how Jamie
completed a 24 hour backwards
run, raising £22,000 for a children’s
charity. The unstoppable athlete also
holds a Guinness World Record for
pushing a 140kg sled for 24 hours.
“My latest conquest is the ten mile
shoulder carry,” he smiles. “I will
be carrying someone of about my
weight on my shoulders for ten miles,
although I may need to swap the

people around as I’m not too sure it’ll
be a comfy ride for them! The event
is being organised to raise money for
PTSD. Having served in the army
for 7 years, this is a charity close to
my heart.”
Jamie trained for the event with
rocks on his back, and insists he really
enjoys putting himself through tough
times to achieve amazing things.
“Doing these seemingly impossible
challenges for charity gives me so
much satisfaction,” he says. “I love
the fact it’s something different each
time and that I am able to help people
through the money I raise. I used to
get my kicks from competing. Initially,
being on stage gave me that self
confidence and validation I needed
after leaving the army. It made people
stand up and take notice of me, but
after a few years of competing at an
international level, I found I’d ticked
all those boxes and needed a new
focus. My charity challenges give me
a new target each time that’s not just
about aesthetics. Crucially for me, they
keep my mind focused, and your mind
controls your body and the outcome
of the goals you set yourself.”
When it does come down to fat
loss though, Jamie has made a
phenomenal success of his YouTube
channel by sharing his 6 month
transformation with millions of people
around the world.
“It all started when my wife Anna
fell pregnant in 2013,” he explains.
“It was like both of us were having a
baby. I ate for two, I drank much more
